1. in what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
The research I did for my media product was questionnaires and internet research to see what audience was best for the Sci-Fi genre and my research suggested that 15-25 year olds watch sci-fi films more than any other, fantasy films came close but sci-fi topped the list. I did this research comparing films such as Alien and war of the worlds the film as well as predator these films where mostly watched by 15-25 years old males. I conformed the conventions of Sci-fi films and I went with this so people could understand the genre that I was trying to create. The sound track throughout the film is intense to build tension and make the action more intense. The costumes used in the film are generic and are typically found in traditional Sci-fi films.
